Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.
My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
