Los Angeles experienced citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Supporters across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Local events included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Social media videos depict countless of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.

The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

In contrast, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the event seem to depict Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.
The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
