Militiamen chuckle as they travel on the bed of a transport truck, racing by a series of multiple corpses and heading towards the setting Sudan's sun.

"Observe all this effort. See this act of ethnic cleansing," one exclaims.

The individual smiles as he points the recording device on himself and his companion fighters, their paramilitary insignia clearly shown: "They are all going to be killed like this."

These individuals are rejoicing over a massacre that aid workers believe claimed the lives of in excess of 2,000 civilians in the Sudanese city of the Darfur city during October.

An Urban Center Isolated from the Outside

Following their control of the community under encirclement for almost two years, from the summer the RSF moved to reinforce its control and prevent access for the surviving residents.

RSF Officers Seek to Conduct Public Relations

Following the events that came after the killings, militia leader acknowledged that his forces had committed "atrocities" and announced the occurrences would be looked into.

At the same time, the militia and affiliated social media channels began seeking to reframe the narrative.

Updates depicting its combatants distributing supplies to inhabitants were shared by some accounts, while the militia's communications team shared several recordings allegedly to show the proper management of government prisoners of war.

Regardless of the online campaign being deployed by the RSF, their actions in el-Fasher have sparked international condemnation.
